How to Make Wax Melts.

Wax melts are fragrant wax cubes that are melted in a special wax melt burner to spread a wonderful scent in the room. Here is a simple guide to making wax melts:

Supplies:

  1. Wax Melt candle wax (soy wax, beeswax, kerosene, etc.).
  2. Fragrant oil (suitable for candles/wax melts)
  3. Dye (optional)
  4. Mould for wax melts (can be an ice cube mould)
  5. Melting or pouring pan
  6. Thermometer
  7. Stirrer
  8. Scissors

Steps:

  1. Preparation:
    • Provide a clean and dry mold for wax melts. An ice cube mold usually works well for this purpose.
    • Make sure you have the right wax! You need Wax Melt (cake melt) wax.
  2. Melting wax:
    • Melt the candle wax in a melting or pouring pan over low heat. Use a thermometer to check the temperature of the wax and prevent overheating.
  3. Adding fragrance and color:
    • Remove the melted wax from the heat and add the scented oil according to the recommended concentration. This varies depending on the oil and the amount of wax you use. Mix well to spread an even scent.
    • If you want to add color, add a small amount of dye and stir until the desired color is achieved. Remember that wax melts usually have a subtle color, so add food coloring in moderation.
  4. Casting in the mold:
    • Carefully pour the melted wax into the prepared mold for wax melts. Fill each cavity to just below the edge, as the wax may shrink slightly after curing.
  5. Curing:
    • Allow the wax melts to harden completely. This usually takes several hours, depending on the size of the wax melts and the type of wax.
  6. Removal from the mold:
    • Once the wax melts are fully cured, you can carefully remove them from the mold. Press at the bottom of each cavity to release the wax melts.
  7. Usage:
    • Place a wax melt in a wax melt burner and light a tea light under the burner. As the wax melts, a pleasant scent spreads through the room.

Be sure to follow proper safety precautions when working with hot wax and open flames.
