Ingredients coconut oil facial soap recipe
- 1020 gr coconut oil
- 335 gr distilled water
- 148 gr of lye/sodium hydroxide
- 51 gr neem oil
- 28 gr sea buckthorn oil
- 15 gr lavender flower powder
- 8 ml of tea tree oil
- 15 ml lemongrass essential oil
- 10 ml patchouli essential oil
Instructions coconut oil facial soap recipe
- Start by measuring out the distilled water. Pour into a heatproof jug.
- Then weigh the lye using a digital scale.
- Slowly pour the lye into the water in a well-ventilated area and stir until all the lye is dissolved. Set aside to cool.
- Now weigh the coconut oil using a digital scale in a stainless steel jar.
- Weigh the neem oil and heat together with the coconut oil until melted, then remove from heat and set aside.
- Weigh all remaining ingredients and set aside.
- When the lye water and oils have cooled to about 32 to 35 degrees you are ready to make soap.
- Start by adding the sea buckthorn oil and lavender flower powder to the melted oil. Blend with a hand blender until evenly distributed.
- Now slowly pour the lye water into the melted oils. Blend with a hand blender to a light trace.
- Add the essential oils and mix again to fully blend and bring the oils to a medium to full trace.
- Then pour into the soap mold and leave the soap uncovered.
- Set the soap aside for 24 to 32 hours before removing it from the mold.
